WHERE ARE  THEY NOW?

HEAR FROM FC GRADUATES!

EZTER BARDI (2003)

Ezter Graduated in 2003. She began rowing with FC as a senior, and was an extremely valuable member of our crew. Both she and her coaches wish that she had found rowing as a freshman!

Ezter attended Emory University where she rowed for four years. She graduated in May of 2007 and is working at a law firm in Atlanta.

Ezter writes: " I can't seem to tear myself away from the rowing, because I am also coaching the novice women's squad at Emory! Although a bit challenging at first, It has been quite a rewarding experience, and I ofter find myself reminiscing about my novice experiences at FC. Interestingly enough, I find that I was more influenced by my novice year at FC than by any subsequent years of varsity rowing at Emory, and I frequently find myself structuring practices the way Sara ran my novice practices!"

Emory crew will be in Pittsburgh for a spring race with Pitt and other crews on March 30. We all look forward to seeing Ezter again.

NINA JACK (1990) (FC Women's Rowing predated the current FC crew)

Hello!

I stumbled onto the FC Crew website today and I am astounded! I was a

founding member of the women's crew and I am just so amazed at how far

the team has come. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments and

wins!   Its so exciting! I was a junior when we started the women's

crew (the men's team came later).  That was 1988-89.  (I believe your

site says 1995-perhaps that is when it became a sanctioned team?).

Some of my friends parents were members of the Allegheny River Rowing

Club and got their daughters interested.  Before we knew it, we had

enough girls for a team so we started a club. By the time I graduated

in the spring of 1990, Fox Chapel Women's Rowing won several medals

and placed in various sprints and head races including Head of the

Ohio, Head of the Schuylkill, and a race at Princeton University

(though I forget the name right now). I was one of 2 captains.  Since

we were new and not sanctioned by the school as a team yet we had to

raise all funds for uniforms, equipment and races oursleves. If you

would like more information on the humble beginnings of FC Crew as

well as photos of the original team, I would be more than happy to

pass them along - I think your team would get a kick out of it! I

can't believe it was almost 20 years ago!

As for myself, I went to Penn State, which did not have a crew so my

racing career was left at Fox Chapel. I now live in Los Angeles, CA

with my husband and I work as an Assistant Director for various

television shows. If you would like more information for your "where

are they now" page, let me know and I'll be happy to provide it.

I would love to share our photos and stories and I'm sure the other

members (several which still live in Pittsburgh) would love to as

well. It might insire me to dig out my medals out of a box in the

attic and dust them off!

Go Foxes!
