Adult Indoor Erging -- Winter 2022

Registration & Waiver:


Upon registration, you will be sent an email with information regarding completion of further requirements for participation: 

  • USRowing Membership ($10)

  • Dues Collection



Spaces Limited: minimum 7 participants (per session)

                            maximum 12 participants (per session)



Who Can Participate: Anyone 19 or older may sign-up. As with any fitness class, please be conscious of what your body is capable of. That being said, you do not need to be an athlete to participate. Each individual is able to bring their own intensity to the workouts, whether your goal is to gain flexibility at a slower pace, or build strength and endurance by speeding up your workout. 



When: January 3 - March 11 (10 weeks)

            Tuesday & Thursday 

                     Morning Session:    5:30a - 7:00a

                     Evening Session:    6:30p - 8:00p


Cost:   $20 per week; cash or check payments

            $10 paid to USRowing for Basic Membership (good for one calendar year)



Class Structure: There will be an introductory focus on technique to ensure safe use of the erg (stationary rowing machine). This will be balanced with time and distance workouts to raise your heart rate and reap the cardio benefits of this machine. We will also do some floor core exercises to increase your stability on the erg, and may add in some light weight body-circuits to help your muscles become more accustomed to the movements of rowing and diversify your time in each session. 



Facility information: Indoor learn-to-row sessions will take place at Allegheny RiverTrail Park (285 River Ave, Aspinwall, PA 15215). Free parking is available on-site; however, the lot may not be plowed during winter, so please use caution. There are public restrooms at the park; however, there may not be indoor access depending on the use of the connecting rooms.

***If a session is cancelled due to weather or emergency

a text notification will be sent out to registered attendees.


***This program is planned based on current COVID 

recommendations and restrictions….changes to the schedule

 or our ability to run the program may change 

based on local and national guidance***
