OUR TEAMS

The High School Team consists of two groups – novice and varsity (separated into male and female boats for competition). -The novice team members are in their first year of racing. They practice with and race against other novice teams.

-The varsity team consists of rowers who are in at least their second year of racing and provides a more competitive training atmosphere as rowers work on technique and strength.

You do not need to have any prior rowing experience to join the team!

This program, which will be coached by FCC coaches, will be held two afternoons per week and Saturday morning beginning again in September 2019 The goal of the program is to introduce students to healthy athletic conditioning while they develop excellent rowing skills and technique appropriate for this younger age group with smaller body size.  Our hope is to develop a cohesive and competitive team.

Please contact Mark Bellinger if you are interested

You will need to complete all of the registration information found on the join page and can begin this process at any time.

FEES

Without a doubt, running a rowing program is expensive. With limited support from the school district, we raise money through dues and fundraisers. Funds are also needed to ensure excellent coaching support and to provide scholarship assistance to students and families for whom fees may be otherwise prohibitive.

Dues amounts are determined before the start of each season and depend primarily upon coaching fees, race entry fees, and travel fees. Spring dues are higher because we travel and race more in the spring.
We never want to turn a student away due to inability to pay the fee so scholarships and payment plans are available by contacting our treasurer.
Dues payments must be received or special arrangements must be made prior to dues deadlines in order to allow athletes to continue to practice.

See Payment Page for payment amounts & dates.

Volunteering

The participation of crew parents is crucial to the continuation of this club. We have no professional club managers. Everything the club does is accomplished by parents like you, most of whom knew nothing about rowing when their children joined the team.

You are required to complete two volunteer duties during each season or you may pay an additional $100 to buy out of your volunteer duties.

Additionally, the athletes are expected to participate in fundraisers throughout the year to support the team.

The complete fall schedule will be available after August 1 on this site
